Items moving will remain moving except if an external power follows up on them. In most ordinary applications on Earth, contact checks movement by easing back things down, so energy should be added to keep an item moving (or turning). Our planet doesn't hinder much basically on the grounds that there is practically nothing preventing it from proceeding to turn.
However, there are factors backing it off, just as speeding it up. The crash that framed the Moon added rotational energy to the planet, filling Earth's heart with joy just around five hours in length. Over the long run, tides raised on Earth by gravitational collaborations with the Moon and, to a lot lesser degree, the Sun, have eased back our planet's turn to the 24-hour day we currently experience. Current estimations show the impacts of the Sun and Moon are easing back Earth's pivot at a pace of around 2 milliseconds at regular intervals.
